Why You Need to Learn How to Stop Singing Through Your Nose

March 8th, 2010

Do you know why it’s important to learn how to stop singing through your nose? The reason is simple: breathing through the mouth dries out both the throat and the mouth. Your vocal cords can only work efficiently when they (as well as their surrounding area) are well lubricated. If you find this hard to believe, try singing really early in the morning, as soon as you roll out of bed in fact. You will find that while you’re still a little bit dehydrated from your night’s sleep, you will be unable to sing well or with power and depth.
