Jeep Vehicles
September 7th, 2010
The United States Army needed a durable and reliable utility vehicle to use during previous wars. They set out specifications that were needed. These specifications created the first Jeep. They included a vehicle that could tow, have floating axles, have a wheelbase of eighty inches, and could not weigh over 1275 pounds. It also had to have a maximum height of forty inches. This vehicle must be able to reach a speed of 50 miles per hour when on a hard surface. It had to have a place to mount a 30-caliber machine gun, and it had to have installed blackout lighting.
