Get Rid of Duplicate URLs
December 30th, 2009
One of the most important SEO services that you or a professional can do is to limit the URLs and extensions. For example, if you own the .com, .net, and .org of your website domain, and do not redirect them, you have a ton of duplicate content that will dilute your link juice and lose favor with the search engines. Make sure that you set up redirects, or get you webmaster to, so that when people link to you they all are grabbing the same, and the correct, page URL. That way all of the links are giving their full value to your site. Also, while talking duplicate content, make sure that all the content on all of your pages is unique. If multiple pages have the same content on them then you look spammy, and the engines do not consider you to be adding as much value.
