Identity Theft in the Digital Age

August 14th, 2009

Identity theft is a huge problem in today’s digital age. Because more and more people are using computers to pay their bills online, do shopping, and simply browsing the internet, identity thieves are taking advantage of uninformed users by setting up dummy sites which resemble real sites.

These sites are designed to look and act just like the original, but when you input your information, the thief now has it. This process is known as phishing, and it currently accounts for more than half of how identities are stolen when using a computer. Because of this, it is very important for computer users to take precautions like identity protection service to prevent their personal information from being stolen.
