Living and Dying in a Small Town
November 22nd, 2009
We are the only funeral home in this small town. When we do a funeral here, it seems everyone in town comes because everyone knows everyone. Our funerals are more like town gatherings or a big family get-together under the worst possible situation. The fact is, all the people of this town care about each other and step up to help when tragedy comes knocking. I keep stacks and stacks of funeral thank you cards, just because I know how many people there will be to write notes of appreciation to in the stillness of the days that follow a funeral here. This is a wonderful town to live in, and if you have to die here, it’s still a good place.
